TALK ON "ADOLESCENCE AND MENTAL HEALTH"

This Monday, November 14, FPB 2nd year students have connected online to attend a talk entitled "Adolescence and mental health" given by Dr. Celso Arango López. In it, they talked about the stigma associated with this type of disease and that, sometimes, the stigma causes more damage than the disease itself, about the increase that has occurred in mental health diseases in adolescents as a result of the pandemic, also about the plasticity of the brain and about what we can all do to reduce the number of people affected by these diseases. Finally, they stressed how important it is to ask for help as soon as possible for ourselves or for someone who is having a hard time.
The talk has been very interesting and instructive for everyone. The activity has been carried out with their teacher Mª Carmen.

VISIT TO THE CEUS OF THE MURCIA CITY COUNCIL AND THE ESI FOR VIDEO GAME DESIGN

The 1st and 2nd FPB students had the opportunity, this Thursday, November 10, to visit the CEUS (Single Monitoring Center) of the Murcia City Council. In this impressive room, equipped with multiple monitors, they have been told how the SmartCity program works, and that, through sensors and cameras placed throughout the city of Murcia, information is obtained on traffic, noise, irrigation systems, lighting, parking meters, etc. They then use this information to improve these services and facilitate the day-to-day life of citizens. The students have raised many questions and have been very impressed with the facilities.
They then visited the ESI (International School of Design) in Murcia to learn more about video game design. During the visit they have visited the different facilities of the School and the different phases of the design of a videogame have been explained to them. They have also seen the awards that some of the School's students have won. Finally they have been given an ESI t-shirt. They have left very impressed and motivated from the visit.
The activity has been coordinated by her teacher Mª Carmen de Ella and they have carried it out with her and with her teacher Elena de Ella.
