EU MINISTERS FOR A DAY

The 16 junior ambassadors of the European Parliament from IES Sabina Mora, along with other students from IES Salzillo, IES Sanje and Colegio Miralmonte, met at the IES Sanje de Alcantarilla facilities this Tuesday, September 26, to play a game of simulation, in which students have represented ministers from different EU countries and have debated key issues of European Union policies.

The activity, under the title "The Council closest to you", has been organized by Europe Direct Region of Murcia and is framed within the events that take place in our country on the occasion of the Rotary presidency that Spain has held since 1 July in the Council of the European Union.

For two hours, the students have experienced first-hand the negotiation method typical of this European institution.

This simulation game has been energized by two officials from the Council of the European Union, Silvia Colagiorgio and Cinzia Giaconia, who have traveled directly from Brussels to carry out this debate.

They were accompanied in the activity by their teacher Mª Carmen, who is also an ambassador of the European Parliament.

SECOND TRAINING DAY OF AMBASSADOR SCHOOLS IN MADRID - 9-28-2023
In this second and intensive day (from 8 in the morning to 7 in the afternoon) the ambassadors, among whom was our teacher Mª Carmen Sáez, received a talk from Juan González Mellizo, head of communication of the European Commission in Spain.
They have also held several workshops and the Good Practices Fair has been held.
You can see the "money" that we have made at the Good Practices Fair when other ambassadors have "bought" the activities that we carried out last year and that we presented at the fair.
The Fair consisted of presenting your activities at a stand and, if someone liked them, they would buy them from you by giving you money.
You can also see the video summary of these activities that we have also presented and which you have been able to access using a QR code.

PODCAST ABOUT ACTIVITIES AS AN AMBASSADOR SCHOOL AND ABOUT THE CELEBRATION OF EUROPE DAY

This Tuesday, May 16, two of our 1st year FPB students, Oumaima and Lázaro, who are two of our EU Ambassadors, have recorded a podcast about the different activities we have carried out during this term as an EU Ambassador School. Our 1st year FPB students have carried out activities as diverse as kahoots about immigration to the EU, murals about soft skills and how to acquire them. They have also received a visit from MEP Marcos Ros and have visited Cartagena to celebrate Europe Day with other ambassador schools. They loved recording the podcast because it is a new activity and because they will then be able to listen to it with their friends on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music and IVOOX.

FIRST TRAINING DAY OF AMBASSADOR SCHOOLS IN MADRID - 9-27-2023
Professor Mª Carmen Sáez is in Madrid attending these conferences as coordinator of the Ambassador Schools program during this course.
This first day has served to get to know the representatives of other Ambassador Schools from all over Spain and to exchange information with them.
We have also received advice from some representatives of Mentor Schools.
We have already set up the stand for the Good Practices Fair, where tomorrow some of the activities we carried out last year as an Ambassador School of the European Parliament will be exhibited.

WIRING OF THE SECOND FLOOR FINISHED

The FPB 2nd year students have already finished the wiring of the SECOND floor of the main building of the institute. This installation has been one of the practices carried out in the Networks module.

Now the cable reaches each of the 12 classrooms on that floor. A double rosette has been placed in each of these classrooms and another one in the radio room.

This installation will serve 13 computers, with a bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps.

For this, a patch panel and a switch have been placed in the communications cabinet of classroom 2.11. (which was already wired).

The practice has been carried out during the second term at a rate of 2 hours per week and all the students of the course have participated (Andrea, Taha, Gabriel, Teo, José David, Abbas, Rafik, Abdelhadi, Alberto, Raúl, Aleksandre, Israel, Adrian and Emmanuel).

Specifically, the students who are studying 1st year of FPB have also collaborated in this task.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR EXCELLENT WORK!
