Yesterday, November 13, the 2nd FPB students visited a clean point, specifically the Torre Pacheco Ecopark located in Roldán. The activity was carried out with Mª Carmen, her tutor and was coordinated by her. They took advantage of the visit to take computer equipment to said clean point in order to recycle it. During the activity they were able to get to know the facilities and received information about the recycling process of all types of waste that is carried out in said establishment. They were very interested and raised their doubts with the manager of the Ecopark, José Herrero.

BASIC VET STUDENTS COLLABORATE IN THE "DAY OF OPEN DOORS"
The students of 1st Basic VET have collaborated in the "Open Door Day" that is held every year at the I.E.S. "Sabina Mora" to receive the 6th grade Primary students from the schools in the area.
A group of students of the cycle has been in charge of guiding the primary students during the visit to some classrooms of the center, such as the Music classroom, the Technology classroom, the French classroom or the F.P. Basic. In this workshop, practices have been prepared to bring primary school students closer to Computer Science and Electronics.

VISIT OF THE BASIC VET STUDENTS TO THE COMPANY "AVANZA SOLUTIONS" IN ALCANTARILLA
The 1st and 2nd Basic VET students visited the facilities of the company Avanza Solutions in Alcantarilla on February 28. They were able to visit all the facilities of the company, also watch a video in which they explained how it works and the fiber optic rates they offer. Subsequently, they were divided into three groups so that, alternatively, they could carry out the following tasks: 1) Merge fiber optics with a fusion splicer. 2) Observe how wiring is mounted in homes. 3) Observe the CPD of the company where the fiber optic header is located. This header provides fiber optic service to different locations in the Murcia region, such as Lorca, Totana, Molina de Segura, etc. The visit was very gratifying and motivating for all the students. COMMUNICATION CABINET INSTALLATION COMPLETED
The 2nd FPB students have already completed the installation of a communications locker in one of the classrooms in the center. This installation has been one of the practices carried out in the Networks module.
Two switches and two patch panels have been installed in this cabinet, serving 29 computers, with a bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps. 15 double rosettes have also been installed.
The practice has been carried out during the second evaluation at the rate of 1 hour per week and all the students of the course have participated.

COMPANY "AVANZA SOLUTIONS" TRAINING DAY
Last Monday, December 17, several members of the company Avanza Solutions from San Javier visited the IES Sabina Mora to give a training day to 1st and 2nd FP students. Firstly, they were shown a presentation in which they were told the most important characteristics of fiber optic communications and important aspects of the company Avanza Solutions.

They then received a talk in which they were told about the current job offer for professional fiber optic installers.

All the student assistants received a diploma that accredited their attendance at that conference.
Finally, the 2nd FPB students were able to carry out a series of practices with fiber optic cable, pigtails, tools and they could also see the fiber fusion splicer in operation.

The company Avanza Solutions is going to sign a collaboration agreement with the IES Sabina Mora to train students in the deployment of fiber optics.
